“Honoring the Granek and Gerichter Lineages — A Personal Commitment to Jewish Memory”

Foundational Purpose

The Gerichter Foundation, established in 2025 by Meir Gerichter, is a deeply personal legacy initiative dedicated to preserving the memory of his grandparents’ families—the Granek and Gerichter lineages—and the once-thriving Jewish community of Częstochowa, nearly eradicated during the Holocaust.

Our mission is to advance Holocaust education and remembrance, ensuring the stories of over 40,000 Jews from Częstochowa, the survivors, and the six million murdered in the Shoah are honored, documented, and passed forward with dignity.

Founder's Commitment

Meir Gerichter, a dedicated Zionist and resident of Thornhill, Ontario, Canada, brings over 15 years of pro-Israel advocacy to this work. As a former sergeant in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), he served as a lone soldier from Canada, operating within the Iron Dome missile defense system and participating in Operation Pillar of Defense (November 14, 2012). A passionate advocate for Jewish sovereignty and historical truth, Meir views the preservation of Holocaust memory as inseparable from the defense of Israel—the living fulfillment of Jewish resilience. His activism spans community education, countering delegitimization campaigns, and promoting Israel’s indisputable right to exist securely within its full ancestral homeland, with Jerusalem as its eternal, undivided capital. Driven by profound pride in his heritage, Meir founded this initiative to honor his ancestors—most notably his second great-grandfather, Rabbi Natan Gerichter, a visionary Zionist leader in pre-war Częstochowa. Meir’s unwavering commitment reflects a lifelong dedication to Jewish self-determination, the security of Israel, and the preservation of Holocaust memory as a moral imperative for future generations.
